Nietzsche says that “man has been reared by his errors”. Nietzsche discusses the question of whether “truth” is in any way discoverable or whether mankind is not necessitated to error. In a way, progress is built on pillars of irrefutable errors, isn’t it? Or this is at least what Nietzsche wants us to think.

But isn’t that the same with any entrepreneurial activity or activity that requires risk taking? Isn’t success built on ruins of past failures? Isn’t success the lonely child of a failed marriage that has been tried to be fixed so many times?

Every successful person knows that success is almost like a living being. It nourishes itself on past mistakes and grows and multiplies proportionally to the amount of effort we put in.

Just like Nietzsche was a pioneer in the demolition of old habits of the mind, so the successful person knows that in order to reach to a new high, he/she will need to break certain limitations and come up with original and almost revolutionary for its time concepts. Just like “aeronauts of the spirit”, as Nietzsche calls them, brave ideas would “fly out” high enough, so that they can be seen by the masses.

Almost prophetic, great business minds know that obstacles or real life problems are probably the best way to improve the journey of many on this Earth and possibly to create new products or trends that will be here to stay.

Cliff-facing, surrounded by prejudices and other people’s scepticism, great business minds know that this is the perfect habitat for breakthroughs to grow. Those who have walked this path before know that the ones that first laughed at you will become your biggest fans once you reach your final destination. Those, who find a million and one reasons of why you would fail, tell you that you should have started earlier once you succeed.

Brave pioneers are needed now more than ever before. You can choose to be silent and obedient or resolute and willing to seek in all things that which must be overcome. As Nietzsche advices of how to become a “higher man” and cope with the obstacles along the way, there are 3 mantras that he offers the reader in Thus Spoke Zarathustra:

1) “Every stone that is thrown must fall”

2) “To be in company is truly more lonely than to be alone!”

3) “Courage is the best destroyer- in every attack there is a triumphant shout”

In laymen’s terms, those 3 mantras would translate into the following postulates that every “punter” must learn by heart:

1) Don’t throw yourself too high and always keep expectations realistic

2) Mind your own business and business will be gravy

3) Be courageous and take consistent and measured risks

Nietzsche concludes that “pity is the deepest abyss, but courage destroys even pity”. Have the courage to start and the patience to gain experience. Because only experience will be able to teach you when is the right time to quit and move onto the next venture. Find the courage to get started because if you don’t, someone else is already on the way of building an empire. Never let self-pity outgrow your desire to succeed, because you are closer today than you were yesterday.
